Day four and five - 3rd & 4th August 2017
Day 4 & 5 - A great end to my first week
- Do one of your usual holiday ventures
- Or you could study, OK no, not studying
Thank you for not letting the little intern waste her summer break!!
These last two days of my first week in Movidius were all about 3D printing :)
From fixing the four models on one of the programmes the little intern was using, to setting up the 3D printer herself (She beamed with pride at that moment). Not only were they going to print the 3D model, they were also going to make a timelapse of the progress!
OK, I'll admit, the first attempt of recording the printer didn't really work. By that I mean it didn't save any footage, yep, none of that five hour printing *slaps forehead* !
Thankfully they had another 3 attempts to make a timelapse with another 3 models left to print :)
So RTE was at Movidius.
Can you guess what the little intern was like when she heard this? She may have looked calm and collected on the outside (she hoped), but the way she felt on the inside... That was a whole other story *laughs nervously whilst remembering frequently rubbing her sweaty palms on her jeans, praying she wasn't going to embarrass herself*.
She didn't mess up!!
I mean, she did say one silly thing, but that doesn't matter (it's normal, ok?)! Luckily, the little intern was able to generate in her head the fact that the interviewers were just like her, curios about Movidius's latest innovations.
The next few minutes of explaining the projects she was working on during her internship went by so quick, she didn't even remember afterwards what words she jumbled together to make her sentences.
As the end of her first week as a teenager in a tech company ends, the little intern becomes once again, incredibly grateful for this opportunity. The oppurtunity Teen Turn gave us teenage girls so that we can experience something not every teen can say they did.
Ehm, did you see a drone land on someone's hand and take a picture all without using a controller? Hm, didn't think so!
Anyways, the little intern is, as I've said before, even more excited for what's to come in her second week as a teenage intern :)

Hey Kathleen - let us know if and when you are appearing on RTE!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure, but I'll ask today at the office and I'll text you back soon!
DeleteRTE is preparing a documentary on AI that will air during science week. They came to the office to do some location scouting and to see what tasty robotics and drone demos they could show in the programme
